Memoir Excerpts from a Psychiatric Nurse Kindle Edition
“Eight Souls in the Madhouse is a precise insight to the failing mental health system for acute care. As someone that has entered a psych ward, it soothes my heart to know the cold in there was not just me." — Anonymous
An empathetic perspective on institutionalized psychiatric care in America. Luciano's memoir details multiple patients and the nurse, as care is provided according to the policy and mandate. Spanning 20 years of healthcare, she includes discussion on the impact "standardized" psychiatric care has upon the mind and soul of the human under the scrubs. There are 7 stories of unethical treatment, outcomes, and life impacts. This book is an exacting memorial for a patient population diminished by psychiatric care.

Rewriting Bedside Fatigue is for nursing students, bedside staff, and any with a story stuck on repeat. This experiential gathering brings somatic tools into reframing experiences into a lesson worth of our presence. Proceeds will go to Saint Xavier University Student Veteran Alliance, as the foundation was cultivated from healing the moral injuries of OIF/OEF careers.
This is not therapy and no prior writing experience is required. Participation is invitational, and all are welcome to engage at their own pace.
